ONE MAN’S DREAM

A love affair that started more than 10 years ago, Muri Beach Club Hotel is a manifestation of the dream of one man, John Scott – a local farmer – to create a world-class beach club on Rarotonga’s most prized natural wonder.

John quickly realised that in order to survive, his business would need to offer more than just a great spot to enjoy a drink, and instead, his idea morphed into a fully-fledged hotel targeting a niche market looking for a holiday in a tranquil, child-free environment.

Today our upper-end, adults-only retreat delivers on John’s vision, providing guests from all around the world unparalleled peace and satisfaction in paradise. The hotel is proudly run by John’s daughter, Liana Scott.

Liana’s childhood home was in the village where the hotel stands today so her ties to the property run deeply. After an interlude working for Air New Zealand, turning heads in the Miss Cook Islands pageant, taking out the Miss South Pacific title in Tonga, and dancing her way around the world with her team, the Orama Dance Troupe, Liana returned to Muri Beach Club Hotel to carry the torch of her family’s legacy.

Muri Beach Club Hotel’s appeal is not only our distinctive address, which is possibly the best anywhere on the island, but also the passion, commitment to service and infatuation with the Cook Islands that is imbued within every facet of our operation.

This is a family owned and operated business with a soul as beautiful as our natural setting. Here you’re welcomed with open arms and the smiles of our staff will capture your heart as surely as the mesmerising sight of the sun setting on the lagoon’s horizon.
